Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the primary differences between Assisted Living Communities
and Nursing Homes?
An assisted living residence is for individuals who need help with daily activities, such as personal care, mobility, medications, meal preparation or household chores, but who do not require skilled nursing care. Assisted living programs strive to create a home-like setting that promotes independence. Nursing homes serve people requiring daily nursing care with 24/7 onsite nursing staffing for the needs of residents.
2. What levels of care does Cameron Hall offer?
Cameron Hall offers varying levels of care, depending on the needs of the individual resident. These care levels range between level 1, level 2, and level 3. Level 1 care is appropriate for residents who are in good physical and mental shape and are essentially self-sufficient, or require occasional assistance. Level 2 is for persons with diminished physical or mental conditions, and need minor supervision and assistance with daily tasks. Level 3 is for residents who need frequent or ongoing assistance with medications, routine living tasks, or suffer from advance loss of mental faculties. A secure Memory care unit is also available in our Canton location for residents who are a high risk of wandering, or suffer from a more advanced dementia.
3. Does Cameron Hall offer financing?
Cameron Hall does not offer financing or file paperwork for payments from third party sources. We accept payments directly from our customers in the form of cash or checks.
4. What is the average cost for Assisted Living?
Nationwide, Assisted Living costs vary from approximately $1,500 - $5,000 per month, with the average in the $2,500 - $3,500 range. The cost of Assisted Living, or any type of senior care, depends on the required level of care, total services offered, the size of the personal living area, and the location of the community. Cameron Hall is a privately held company, with local ownership of both assisted living locations, which means that our rates are more affordable. To pay for this type of care at home would be very costly. At Cameron Hall, we offer all of these services and much more at an affordable price. This price includes 24-hour access to staff, three meals a day, two snacks daily, all-inclusive utilities, housekeeping, and daily activities. Laundry service is available at no extra charge. Cable television hook-ups and dedicated telephone lines are provided in all resident rooms. Many of our rooms can accommodate two people… so a married couple can share a room at a minimal charge.
How do I choose the right Assisted Living Community?
Familiarize yourself with the various services, amenities and costs for three to five assisted living communities, and tour those prospective communities. After you determine which assisted living communities meet your budget, you should seek the direct input of the person that is going to be the resident. We strongly recommend that before signing any agreements that you carefully review the agreement, affirm what is to be provided, and identify any and all costs that may be charged. Do not be afraid to ask plenty of questions during the tour and/or during the move-in process.
Assisted Living Communities have to comply with rules and regulations for Personal Care Homes in the state of Georgia. The regulatory agencies responsible for enforcement routinely perform surprise inspections, and report their findings. These inspections cover many areas, including employee training hours, medication assistance records, fire drill logs, etc. The inspection reports are public, and can be accessed via the internet by clicking on the link below.

6. Are there restrictions or qualification criteria for beginning Assisted Living arrangements?
There are minimal formal restrictions which are generally limited to matching the level of care and services to the needs of the individual.
